Work starts on new Lincolnshire Institute of Technology
It will be ready in April 2021
Work on a new Institute of Technology has started at Riseholme College north of Lincoln.
The centres are being built by Lindum Group at Bishop Burton’s campuses in Riseholme (Lincolnshire Showground) and Beverley (Yorkshire) as part of a £2.7 million investment from the college.
The Riseholme College building will get over £1 million in funding to develop new classrooms and dedicated workspaces at the Lincolnshire Institute of Technology.
The institute will focus on precision agriculture and agri-food and provide students with the skills needed to utilise technology in the industry.
Takeaway loses licence for breaching COVID-19 rules
Customers were found inside after curfew
Gainsborough Grill was found to be in breach of coronavirus regulations.
A Gainsborough takeaway has had its late night refreshment licence revoked for breaching coronavirus rules, including having customers sat inside after 10pm and face coverings not being worn.
Lincolnshire Police visited Gainsborough Grill, located at 168 Trinity Street, three times over a four week period.
As well as the 10pm curfew being broken and a male found stood eating in the store, the takeaway’s COVID-19 risk assessment had not been completed and the CCTV system was also found not to be working.

Two drivers were injured after a three-vehicle crash on the A17 at Long Sutton, which closed the road for around nine hours.
The collision happened at around 1pm on Wednesday, December 16 and involved a red and green Mercedes HGV, a red Peugeot 207, and a black VW Touran.
The driver of the VW Touran, a man in his 30s, was taken to hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the Peugeot was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
The road was closed and was planned to reopen at around 10pm.
The Lincolnite went to try it.
Papa’s Fish & Chips on Cleethorpes Pier introduced the two foot deep fried pig in blanked on December 4, after a successful trial run last year.
Labelled the ‘hog in a duvet’, it is a 60cm long sausage, wrapped in bacon and battered before being fried. Think of it as a gigantic battered sausage with bacon included.
The sausage can either be cut in half or served whole, depending on if you feel like saving it for later. | Photo: Steve Smailes for The Lincolnite
The chippie is no stranger to unique challenges, having also sent fish and chips up to space before, but the hog in a duvet is more for charity than anything else.
