Lincolnshire Police fined 367 people over COVID breaches

Lincolnshire Police issued 367 COVID-19 enforcement fines, including those under local lockdowns, between March and December last year.
Eight fines were for breaches of face coverings regulations and another eight for international travel regulations.
The latest data from the National Police Chief’s Council (NPCC) was released on Friday, January 8 and shows that a total of 30,289 fines were issued by police forces across the country. The full data can be found here and covers March 27, 2020 and December 20.
Of the 367 fines handed out by Lincolnshire Police, 237 came under a category called No.1, No.2 local lockdowns, with a further two relating to local COVID-19 alert levels and 23 under ‘all tiers’.

A female wallaby and the baby joey in her pouch sadly died after suffering fright from fireworks on New Year’s Eve.
Ark Wildlife Park & Exotic Animal Sanctuary in Boston announced during the evening of Thursday, January 8 that it received the post mortem results back after it discovered on New Year’s Day that one of its female wallabies called Sheila had passed away.

There have been 441 new coronavirus cases and 21 COVID-related deaths in Greater Lincolnshire on Thursday.
The government’s COVID-19 dashboard recorded 354 new cases in Lincolnshire, 49 in North East Lincolnshire and 38 in North Lincolnshire.
On Thursday, 13 deaths were registered in Lincolnshire, seven in North Lincolnshire and one in North East Lincolnshire. These figures include deaths both in and out of hospitals, as well as residents in hospitals outside the county.
NHS England reported nine new local hospital deaths on Thursday, including five at United Lincolnshire Hospital Trust and four at Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust (NLAG).

There have been 546 new coronavirus cases and 20 COVID-related deaths in Greater Lincolnshire on Wednesday.
The government’s COVID-19 dashboard recorded 426 new cases in Lincolnshire, 69 in North Lincolnshire and 51 in North East Lincolnshire. Local cases have hit 40,000 mark since the pandemic started.

A Lincoln man wanted for a recall to prison was caught by police after a short foot chase.
Nathan Howitt, 43, was found on the St Giles estate in Lincoln by PCs Senescall and Bateman from the force’s ARC Lincolnshire team.
He has now been recalled to prison due to breach of release conditions.
ARC Lincolnshire, which was launched in the county in 2016 as the county’s approach to Integrated Offender Management, said its client was “completely disengaged from services” and saying how “he needs help and things will be different upon his release”.
