Chris Haward became the new Chief Constable for Lincolnshire on December 19, 2020, moving from his role as East Midlands Deputy Chief Constable, and replacing Bill Skelly, who retired. Mr Haward has been visiting officers and staff across the county, setting his strategy and delivery plan, focusing on crime and antisocial behaviour prevention, protecting those from harm and planning for summer COVID challenges.

The government’s COVID-19 dashboard recorded 40 new cases in Lincolnshire, 17 in North Lincolnshire and three in North East Lincolnshire. On Tuesday, one death was registered in North Lincolnshire, none in North East Lincolnshire but -3 in Lincolnshire. Fluctuations in data are usually due to some deaths in those areas being reallocated to other regions across the UK or a miscount. These figures include deaths both in and out of hospitals, as well as residents in hospitals outside the county.

A big hole can be seen in the shutters at Ernest Jones on Lincoln High Street, where glass is shattered across the floor inside. The burglary was reported to police at 2.29am on Monday, April 26 and a cordon was put in place.
