Less than one month after Owerri Correctional Centre and headquarters of Imo State Police Command were attacked, the country home of Governor Hope Uzodinma was bombed yesterday.
The incident, which happened at 8:15 am at his village, Omuma, in Oru East Local Government Area, resulted in the death of four security operatives.
Same day, the Commander of Eastern Security Network (ESN), an outfit facilitated by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPoB), and six members of the outfit were killed during a shootout with security forces in the state.

The apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, on Saturday, condemned attack by gunmen on the country home of Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma.
Ohanaeze President General, George Obiozor, in a statement through the group’s National Publicity Secretary, Alex Ogbonnia, warned youths in the South-East against being used by outsiders and detractors to destabilise the region.
No fewer than three security operatives were killed when gunmen attacked Uzodinma’s country home in the Oru East Local Government Area of the state. Part of the building and vehicles in the compound were also torched by the assailants.

The growing unrest in Imo State persisted on Saturday as seven members of the Indigenous People of Biafra and three security men were killed, while gunmen torched the residence of Governor Hope Uzodinma in the Omuma, Oru East Local Government Area of the state.
Police operatives and their counterparts from the Nigerian Army and the Department of State Services had reportedly killed one Commander Ikonta and six other IPOB members in a raid on the militias’ hideout at Awomama village in Oru.

Unknown hoodlums in the early hours of Saturday attacked the country home of Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma in Omuma, Oru East Local Government Area of the state, leaving three security personnel dead and property worth several millions destroyed.
Yesterday’s attack was about the fourth in the state in the last three weeks. The state police command headquarters and the state headquarters of the National Correctional Centre, both in Owerri, the state capital, were attacked on April 5. That was in addition to assaults on other police formations in the state.
The assailants on Uzodimma’s home set ablaze several property in the governor’s premises, running into millions of naira, including choice vehicles.
