India And Bangladesh Hold 51st DG-Level Border Coordination Conference In Assam
As per reports, the meeting is said to conclude with the signing of a Joint Record of Discussions by both the Directors’ General of BSF and BGB.
India and Bangladesh on Tuesday kick-started the 51st Director-General Level Border Coordination Conference 2020. This is the first time that the Director-General Level talks between the two Border Guarding Forces (BGF) is being held in Guwahati, Assam.
The Indian BSF delegation is being led by DG BSF Rakesh Asthana, IPS while the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) led by the DG BGB Maj Gen Shafeenul Islam, BGBM (BAR) ndc, psc. Officials of the Indian Home Ministry and External Affairs Ministry will also be present from India s side. While Bangladesh would additionally be represented by officials from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), Home Ministry, and Foreign Ministry.

GUWAHATI: The 5-day long Director General (DG) level Border Coordination Conference (BCC) between India s Border Security Force (BSF) and Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB), beginning from Tuesday, would streamline mechanisms to jointly curb diverse trans-border crimes and timely sharing of information between the both border guarding forces, a BSF official said here on Monday.
According to a senior official of the
BSF, the BCC, held first time outside the national capital, would also deliberate on developmental and infrastructure works, joint efforts for effective implementation of Coordinated Border Management Plan (CBMP) and Confidence Building Measures (CBMs).

New Delhi: The 51st Round of Director General Level Talks (DGLT) between India and Bangladesh will be held in Guwahati between December 22 and December 26. Aimed at discussing border-related matters such as controlling trans-border crimes and timely sharing of information, the four-day conference will take place for the first time at a venue outside of Delhi. The biannual conference will have Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and Indian Border Security Force (BSF) as its participants.
