PA Police make two arrests following ICRT investigation

Prince Albert Daily Herald Prince Albert police arrested and charged two people following an Integrated Crime Reduction Team investigation on Thursday. Police arrived at a residence on Kemp Crescent at around 9 p.m. where they arrested a 24-year-old man on outstanding warrants. Officers located a shotgun and ammunition after further investigation. The man faces additional firearms related charges in connection with the incident. Police also arrested a 26-year-old woman at the scene. According to a press release, the Saskatoon Integrated Crime Reduction Team, the RCMP Prince Albert gang Task Force and Melfort and Tisdale RCMP detachments learned about the presence of large quantities of drugs in the area in March. They started a project based on information gathered by the RCMP, Saskatoon Police and Crime Stoppers.

(Peter lozinski/Daily Herald) The Prince Albert Police Service (PAPS) is going ahead with plans for a new multi-year strategy that would see four additional police officers on patrol in Prince Albert focused on proactive policing and addressing local crime trends. The plan will target property crime, gang activity and violence. Following approval earlier this month by city council to fund four additional police officers through a new $35 base tax, the Prince Albert Board of Police Commissioners approved a proposal from the police service at their meeting on Thursday outlining a strategy to proactively address crime trends and problem addresses in our community.
