The newly deployed Zamfara State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Hussain Rabiu says he has made a careful study of the peculiar nature of security challenges in the state, noting that banditry, kidnapping, cattle rustling, armed robbery and homicide were most prevalent.
Addressing newsmen at the state police command in Gusau, CP Rabiu said he has now commenced a review of existing crime-fighting strategies used in the past for efficiency.
“The combat readiness, determination and total commitment of the Police under my watch will be through total onslaught against vicious crimes and that will be carried out in partnership with the State Government, other security agencies, traditional rulers, community and religious leaders”

Hadiza Bala Usman, the suspended Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) says she did not award a contract to a company owned by Aliko Dangote.
Usman was accused of removing Integrated Logistics Services Nigeria Limited (Intels) from operating some coastline terminals at the Onne ports.
She allegedly gave the job to International Container Terminal Services (ICTS) Nigeria limited linked to Dangote but she denies ties with the billionaire.
In a statement, Usman explained she has no powers to unilaterally award contracts, adding that such must be approved by the NPA management team.
The embattled MD said a media report lumped the expired service boat contract between the NPA and Intels which commenced in 2007 with a review of a ten-year extension in 2011 that expired in August 2020.

The management of the Intels Nigeria Limited (INL) has categorically refuted the story doing the rounds that its businesses in Nigeria are being deliberately hindered by the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.
The rebuttal was contained in a press statement issued by Tommaso Ruffinoni on behalf of the INL and the Orlean Invest Holding (OIH), which is the parent company of INL.
It reads: “The Intels Nigeria Limited and with it its parent company Orlean Invest Holding in relation to some statements that appeared in the press yesterday and today categorically denies that its business has at some time been hindered by political influences from the current government.
