Emergency Cell Phone Alerts Justified, Says State Department of Health
INDIANAPOLIS Normally, you get an emergency alert to you cell phone for severe weather or a missing person.
Tuesday, Marion and surrounding counties might have gotten an emergency alert about the Indianapolis Motor Speedway mass vaccination clinic.
The emergency alert was sent out by the Indiana Department of Health.

WIBC reached out for an interview, but ISDH sent a statement saying the alert was sent to help increase appointments in (sic) the Indianapolis Motor Speedway mass vaccination clinic, which has available appointments each day this week.

FRANKFORT While much ink was spilled in the state-wide press about the General Assembly and the governorâs power struggle of emergency executive actions relating to COVID, as well as controversial moves in education, there were quite a few bills that flew under the radar in this session.
With more than 150 bills set to become law after the General Assembly adjourned Sine Die â meaning until the next regular session or unless the governor calls a special session â there are bills that went through the School House Rock routine that affect everyday people, all without much notice.

FARGO (KVRR) – Cass Fargo Emergency Management has apologized for mistakenly sending a mass notification at around midnight Wednesday.
Officials say the message was sent to 55,766 contacts and was delivered to 7,655 contacts before employees realized the error.
“At 11:54 p.m., an employee inadvertently sent the monthly test to residents rather than in the test environment. Cass Fargo Emergency Management apologizes for this error and is evaluating processes to ensure this does not reoccur.”
The monthly test is required by the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
Area residents can subscribe to the alerts to receive information during both emergency and non-emergency situations.
