COIMBATORE: Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) has been adjudged the best performing university under the Mission for Integrated Development of Horticultural Programmes implemented by the Directorate of Arecanut and Spices Development, Kozhikode. A statement from TNAU said the Government of India-Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (GOI-MIDH) on seed & planting material production and distribution and transfer of technology in spices was being implemented at the Horticultural College and Research Institute, Periyakulam. In this scheme, production of quality planting materials of black pepper, ginger, and cinnamon were being taken up in 16 centres. At the annual review meeting of GOI-MIDH, TNAU was adjudged the best performing university among the 45 centres.
