Fundraising campaign for an ultrasound machine kicks off in Vanderhoof

The St. John Hospital recently had a need for an ECHO Ultrasound to improve cardiac care in the region.
The Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation is starting a fundraising campaign in honour of Rosalie Nichiporuk.
The Mr. & Mrs. P.A. Woodwards Foundation supported the region and this project with a $100,000 grant.

“We are grateful to the Woodward’s Family for their generous gift and recognizing that even though Vanderhoof is only one hour away, that travel time is crucial in an emergency situation and that bringing care closer to home is always the best solution,” said Judy Neiser, CEO for Spirit of the North.

She is so full of love. “You can see it in her eyes,” says Prince George On Trak Team president Sylvia Pavlik who visits on a regular basis. Indeed, Heidi Snow’s eyes light up when she is asked a question that makes her happy.
Snow, 27, has lived in a silent world since her teens.
Fundraising efforts are underway this week to give her a voice. She is thrilled at the thought. Asked if she is excited about the new machine which will allow her to “speak” to her friends and family again, Snow throws back her head and smiles. Her eyes open wide. Does she want to say hello to everybody she knows? An emphatic “yes,” said her upturned eyes. She blinked several times, nodding in agreement at a suggestion, “now you can say what you really want for supper.”
