New Delhi: The Pakistan government and the country’s Prime Minister Imran Khan made their way into the controversy over Arnab Goswami’s WhatsApp chats, saying the Republic TV founder’s conversations “show” that the Balakot airstrike was planned by the Narendra Modi government to win the 2019 general elections.
The Mumbai police have annexed chats between Goswami and former Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) CEO Partho Dasgupta, which showed that Goswami was aware of the airstrike â which the Indian Air Force conducted as retaliation to the Pulwama terror attack in February 2019 â at least three days in advance.
ISLAMABAD – Indian journalist and a supporter of the ruling BJP in India, Arnab Goswami, had prior knowledge of the Modi government’s plan to carry out a strike on Pakistani soil days before Indian Air Force bombed Pakistani soil, the Balakot intrusion on February 26, 2019.
The airstrike caused no loss of life in Pakistan as the Indian jets dropped their munitions on a hillside yet the airstrike near the town of Balakot brought the two nuclear armed neighbors on the brink of another war. The revelation of Goswami having prior knowledge about the strike comes from the Mumbai police’s ongoing investigation into manipulation of television ratings, reported Indian media outlets.
Brands, however, have become more conscious of their budgets.

NEW DELHI: The temporary halt that the Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) put on the issuance of the television rating point (TRP) of news channels three months ago is not bothering the marketing fraternity much. The observation was made by an elaborate panel consisting of some of the top brands and marketers at Indiantelevision.com’ s ‘India Khush Hua’ virtual roundtable, hosted in partnership with Shemaroo Entertainment Ltd.
Dabur India Ltd head of media Rajiv Dubey noted that media planning got slightly impacted because of the whole controversy, however, the spending sentiment is not really down.

WhatsApp chat between India s firebrand anchor Arnab Goswami and head of ratings company, Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC), Pratho Dasgupta, reflects Prime Minister Modi can stoop to any low for his electoral gains from apparently killing own soldiers, risking a nuclear regional conflict and buying the Godi Indian media.
The February 26, 2019, Indian air strike on Balakot was billed as India’s response to an attack on February 14, 2019, in Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir, in which 40 Central Reserve Police Force personnel were killed after an explosive-laden car driven by a suicide bomber rammed into their bus.
