Ricardo Jaime Rivera, 48, was sentenced Wednesday morning in Olmsted County District Court to five years of probation after he pleaded guilty to two charges of threats of violence-reckless disregard terror. In handing down the sentence, Judge Lisa Hayne ordered a stay of imposition for Rivera. As part of his probation, Rivera must also write a letter of apology to the victim and attend domestic abuse counseling/treatment as directed by his probation agent.

Sao Yim Jr., 27 of Rochester, was scheduled to be sentenced Friday for the fatal shooting of Ahmed Muafaq Abdulhu Al Naddf. That has now been rescheduled for February 8, 2021, in Olmsted County District Court. Al Haddf, a refugee from Iraq, was found shot to death on March 12, 2018, in the 2800 block of Charles Court NW in Rochester. Yim pleaded not guilty to 2nd degree murder and possession of a firearm after being convicted of a crime of violence. He was found guilty in October 2020.

Zackaria Ahmed was arrested on suspicion of 16 charges including felony stalking, felony fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct and seven misdemeanor counts of indecent exposure. Ahmed was arrested about 6:15 p.m. Thursday at his place of employment and taken to the Olmsted County Adult Detention Center.
