With the rise in low/no alcohol products, the UK’s Wine and Spirit Trade Association (WSTA) has set out its recommendations for how to name and label low and no alcohol products designed as spirit drink substitutes.
While terms such as low alcohol and alcohol-free are defined in legislation, the name a product can use is less clear. The WSTA has therefore set out what names could be considered acceptable and which are likely to be considered to be misleading to consumers. It hopes the guide will assure producers that they are labelling and marketing their beverages correctly; as well as increasing consumer confidence in the category.
China’s State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) has published the full-text regarding new regulations for cosmetics registration, which will come into force May 1, 2021.

Administrative Measures on Cosmetics Registration and Notification includes six chapters and 63 articles and supports the overarching Cosmetics Supervision and Administration Regulation (CSAR).
According to SAMR, these measures will strengthen cosmetic registration and filing management, protect consumers’ health rights, regulate and promote the healthy development of the cosmetics industry.
