According to the Oklahoma County Sheriffâs Office, deputies responded to a home in the early morning hours of June 16 to a report of a drowning. According to the sheriff s office s report, 18-year-old Toyin Amuda, a beloved former Deer Creek student and homecoming king, drowned. A metro family said they will never fully heal after a Deer Creek High School graduate drowned at a pool party two weeks ago.
Toyin Amuda s family said they lost the heart of their family two weeks ago when the Deer Creek homecoming king and football player drowned at a pool party.
“He was filled with love, so much passion, he was humble, so gentle, well known and the most respectable person you will meet at 18 years old,” said Ade Amuda, Toyin Amuda’s brother.
Amuda s mother and father said they re living every parent s worst nightmare. His brother said he lost his best friend.

The family of an 18-year-old Deer Creek High School graduate who drowned during a private pool party in June is asking the public to come forward with any information related to the case.
Emergency responders pronounced recent homecoming king Oluwatoyin “Toyin” Amuda dead about 3:11 a.m. June 16 in the 21600 block of Villagio Drive in an unincorporated area west of Edmond.
In the aftermath, some on social media have speculated about the circumstances that led to his death. The state Medical Examiner’s Office initially determined the manner of Amuda’s death was an “accident” but has since updated its determination to “pending.”
