Panhandle State Communications on 03/11/2021
In light of Governor Stitt’s lifting of state coronavirus restrictions, Oklahoma Panhandle State University is looking forward to an in-person, socially distanced outdoor graduation ceremony for our 2020 and 2021 graduates in May. We are planning and looking forward to returning to in-person campus activities in the fall.
OPSU President, Tim Faltyn, stated, “We will continue to be thoughtful about our students, faculty, and staff s health and safety and seek their input as we move forward. Over this past year, we have been very successful in limiting the number of cases and exposure to COVID-19 on campus. We will work with our campus community as we revise and improve our current protocols that protect the student experience.”

2021 Century Club Kicks Off Panhandle State Communications on 03/05/2021
In 2019, OPSU celebrated the 110th anniversary with the restoration of the iconic feature of campus, the Sower. The Century Club was developed to recognize OPSU supporters who gave $100 or more annually. The restoration of the Sower statue was the first project of the Century Club.
University President, Dr. Tim Faltyn stated, “This project was a great way to inspire a new generation of supporters who could invest in one of the most historical and iconic features of our campus.”
The statue was taken down for much needed repairs and a bronze casting was made. The bronze statue was placed back on campus in early June even through the COVID-19 pandemic. In remembrance of donors for the first year, names are being engraved on plaques to be placed at the base of the statue.
