Travel + Leisure reports, an Oklahoma lawmaker has introduced a bill that would establish an official Bigfoot hunting season, with a cash bounty for hunters who successfully capture the cryptid.
The new legislation, proposed by Representative Justin Humphrey, would allow people to obtain official Bigfoot hunting licenses from the Oklahoma Wildlife Conservation Commission. Bigfoot hunting season would have defined start and end dates just like other wildlife hunting seasons in the state and anyone who uses their license to wrangle a sasquatch could receive up to $25,000.

In January, Oklahoma Rep. Justin Humphrey introduced a new bill to the state legislature in an attempt to open up licenses for Bigfoot Hunting Season. Yes. For real. A lot of people don t believe in Bigfoot, but a lot of people do, Humphrey said in a statement, explaining the licenses would be regulated by the Oklahoma Wildlife Conservation Commission. There would be set dates for hunting the mythical creature, just as there are for other wildlife.

Expect banana – extremely silly – actions for the next few weeks because the Oklahoma Legislature is reconvening for its 58th session on Monday.
In fact, it’s already occurring.
Yes, I do respect most of those who run and are elected to state offices. I also think certain legislators consider their constituents’ best interests and the state instead of pursuing whims, oftentimes based on reelection hopes.
But how can we ignore silly actions by some state officials and at the state Capitol? That includes proposed legislation that we hope never is passed into law, some of it potentially being overthrown later by courts if it does. Thus, before the legislative session begins, I’ve decided to bestow banana awards to certain actions either proposed or already accomplished by our elected officials.

This really needs to be a Wyoming story. But, sorry, Wyoming has very few Bigfoot sightings. Still,
if we can get a Jackalope hunting permit, why can t we get a Bigfoot hunting permit in this state?

In fact Mr. Humphrey lives in southeastern and south-central Oklahoma where most of the state s sightings happen. They even host a bigfoot festival every year in the area.
