Beginning the week of May 24 the Oakland County Health Division will collaborate with other providers, municipalities, and school districts to ensure all residents have access to the vaccine at familiar locations near their homes. “By holding pop-up clinics within minutes of your home and among your neighbors, we’re hoping to attract residents who may not have felt comfortable driving a long way to larger clinics,” said County Executive Dave Coulter.

Birmingham, Huron Valley schools plan COVID-19 vaccination clinics

Birmingham Schools announced Friday two vaccination clinics for students at each of their high schools. Huron Valley will also host a drive-thru vaccination clinic from 3-7 p.m. May 26 at Oak Valley Middle School, said Calandra Green, Oakland County Health Division nurse and administrator. Other Oakland County districts, including South Lyon, are coordinating vaccine efforts with county health department partners for shots. With the new guidelines making the vaccine eligible for anyone 12 and up, we ve had a lot of requests to support the schools, Green said. Our efforts have been to push the vaccine to all community partners, so pediatric offices and local pharmacies can provide in partnership with Oakland County.
