Eight lives were lost on Saturday in Osogbo when a truck conveying kegs of palm oil and 61 passengers, ascending a bridge along Osogbo/Gbongan Road, lost control and fell into a drainage.
In the accident that occurred around 1.20am, 36 passengers were said to have been injured with many kegs of palm oil destroyed.

No fewer than five people have lost their lives in separate road accidents in Osun, Ogun and Rivers states.
In Osun, two passengers lost their lives in a crash along the Ilesha-Akure Expressway near Iwaraja Junction.
The accident, which occurred around 10pm on Wednesday, involved two vehicles – a truck and a bus.
PUNCH Metro gathered that both vehicles were going towards Akure from Ilesha when they had a collision.
The Osun Sector Public Education Officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Agnes Ogungbemi, confirmed the accident.
Ogungbemi said while the corpse of one of the victims was taken to the morgue of the Wesley Guild Hospital, Ilesha, the remains of the second victim could not be removed.
