Father remanded for raping teenage daughter in Osun

Punch Newspapers Sections Bola Bamigbola, Osogbo For allegedly raping his 14-year-old daughter, one Kazeem Olapade, aged 44, was on Friday  remanded in Ilesa Custodial Centre by an Osun State Chief Magistrates’ Court, sitting in Osogbo. Olapade, a resident of Ido-Osun, reportedly committed the alleged offence between August, 2020 and January, 2021 when he forcefully had carnal knowledge of the victim. The police prosecutor, Jacob Akintunde, while addressing the court, accused the defendant of having sexual intercourse with his daughter for close to six months before he was caught. He said the offence was contrary to sections 31(1)(2), 214(1) and 360 of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol II, law of Osun State, 2002.

Herbal seller arraigned for allegedly selling newborn baby for N150,000 in Osun

Share An Osogbo-based herbal seller, Ganiyat Oladapo on Monday appeared before an Osun State Chief Magistrates’ Court, for allegedly selling a newborn baby for N150,000. The defendant who was said to have committed the offence in June last year was arraigned on two counts charge bordering on child trafficking, conspiracy and illegal procurement. She was said to have taken one pregnant woman, Mariam Oladapo who was in her custody and was in search of greener pasture to Anambra State where she taught her how to hawk herb on the streets of the town. However, when the pregnant woman gave birth to a baby, the defendant sold the newborn baby for N150,000.

Osun man arraigned for impersonating soldier gets bail

Punch Newspapers Sections Bola Bamigbola, Osogbo One Emmanuel Adebisi, who was arraigned for impersonating a soldier in Osun State, was on Wednesday admitted bail. Adebisi, who alongside others coordinated the #EndSARS protest in the state, was arraigned before an Osun State Chief Magistrates’ Court sitting in Osogbo by the Department of State Services on four counts of impersonation and illegal possession of Army uniform on December 14, 2020. He was remanded in the Ilesa Custodial Centre, while his counsel was told to file a formal bail application on his behalf. When the matter resumed on December 23, the counsel for the defendant, Niyi Akinsola, filed the formal bail application and prayed the court to admit his client to bail, but the prosecution counsel, Oyedele Akintayo, opposed the application.
