He was 47. Mohapatra s death comes a couple of days after another Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) match referee Rajendra Jadeja, also a former Saurashtra Ranji team captain, succumbed to Covid-19 at 65. BCCI reaches out to state units for consensus January 28 2021 by Vijay Tagore The BCCI is aiming to finalise the details of the season s second domestic competition by the end of January. In order to decide on the second domestic competition of the season, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), on Thursday (January 28), reached out to its affiliate units to take their suggestions, much in line with how they zeroed in on hosting the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy earlier in the season. Multiple state associations have confirmed to Cricbuzz that they received calls from Jay Shah, the board secretary, to pick between Ranji Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy as their prefered option. The BCCI wants to finalise on the details of the competition they are going to host by the end of January.
