UTICA, N.Y. – Many elderly people in the community need a little help with snow removal in the winter – so two local agencies have teamed up to help.
The Parkway Center in Utica and the Oneida County Office for the Aging are looking for volunteers to shovel walkways and sidewalks for older adults who can’t physically do it themselves, or afford to pay someone to do it for them.

So far all of the Oneida County Health Department vaccination points of dispensing (PODs) have been fully booked. That’s 250-300 vaccines a day. The process starts with an appointment, and then there’s a series of steps within the vaccination POD. The first thing that’s going to happen is you need your temperature taken. You’ll have to fill out a health questionnaire and likely wait in a few lines before getting a shot. Oneida County Health Department Executive Director Daniel Gilmore is asking for your patience.
