Man points airsoft gun at another driver in road rage incident on I-81, deputies say

Syracuse, N.Y. A man pointed what was later discovered to be an airsoft gun at another driver Saturday afternoon during a road rage incident near the 7th North Street exit on Interstate 81, deputies said.
The incident was reported just before 2:30 p.m. when the other driver, also a man, exited I-81 and drove to Destiny USA to call 911, according to Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Sgt. Jon Seeber.
Deputies found no evidence of shots being fired, Seeber said.
The man who pointed the air gun was later found and arrested, Seeber said.
Deputies arrest two men after shootout at Homewood Suites hotel in Salina

Salina, N.Y. Two Syracuse men have been accused of shooting at each other last fall outside of a Salina hotel, authorities announced today.
Cassieum Pitts, 24, and Maurice Owens, 20, have been charged with firing guns at each other in Homewood Suites’ parking lot. The Syracuse men were arrested by the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office after a months-long investigation, said Sgt. Jon Seeber, sheriff’s office spokesman.
The shootout happened at 11:18 p.m. Nov. 30 outside Homewood Suites at 275 Elwood David Road off of 7th North Street.
2020 NY shooting-related hunting accidents: 2 of the 3 fatals occurred in Onondaga County

Three Upstate New York hunters died from self-inflicted, shooting accidents during the 2020 hunting season, which had a total of 22 reported accidents, according to the state Department of Environmental Conservation.
All three deaths occurred during the fall big hunting seasons. Two of the fatals involved hunters who accidentally shot themselves with muzzleloaders while on the ground. The third fatal involved a crossbow hunter who accidentally fired a bolt from his loaded crossbow into his chest while hauling it up into a tree stand.
Two of the deaths occurred in Onondaga County; the other, in Saratoga County.
