OxygenOS 12 update for OnePlus phones will add new Theme Store
OnePlus will be launching its new OnePlus Theme Store For OnePlus smartphones with OxygenOS 12 update.

One Plus smartphones will soon be having a dedicated theme store with the OxygenOS 12 update, that will allow the user to configure their smartphones to their liking. OnePlus announced the news in an official forum thread, which also revealed a few details about the forthcoming OnePlus Open Ears Forum (OEF), which is scheduled for Tuesday, May 18 at 10 A.M. Eastern Time (07:30 P.M. IST).
OxygenOS 12 to bring a Theme Store
The next major addition coming to OnePlus phones with OxygenOS 12 is a theme store. OnePlus confirmed the news in an official forum post which laid out a few details of the upcoming OnePlus Open Ears Forum (OEF) set for May 18. OnePlus plans to discuss its upcoming OxygenOS 12 additions with a group of 15 users and several OnePlus community member s.
The OnePlus Theme Store is still up for debate though it seems a majority of the OnePlus forum members are supportive of the idea. OxygenOS 12 will be based on Android 12 (codenamed Snow Cone) and is expected to arrive later this year after Google officially unveils its latest OS.

OnePlus usually holds an Open Ears Forum with live audience but that changed last year when the first online forum was held. We all know the reason: COVID-19. Fortunately, it was well-received and more people actually attended the event. OnePlus is once again having the OEF. It will still be online as the pandemic is still not over. Just like last year, we’re looking forward to hearing more from OnePlus, sharing feedback and suggestions about OnePlus products, and learning about new ideas.
The virtual Open Ears Forum 2021 will happen on May 8, 2021. OnePlus decided on a theme: Theme Store. OnePlus knows the most popular request of consumers and that is custom themes. They don’t even have to be really personalized. OnePlus users simply want to use different themes but there are only a few available.

“Our wishes of having offline OEF have to be postponed until it’s 100 percent secure outside,” OnePlus said in its forum post.
“While waiting for that day to come, we’re bringing back the online OEF with a brand-new topic Theme Store. This may not be an unfamiliar topic for you, as you might have tried some custom themes or wallpapers downloaded from other theme stores before. In fact, this is a highly-requested feature.”
