Another 8,771 BC Interior residents were vaccinated since Monday as the province’s vaccination program picks up steam thanks to increased supply. One resident and one staff member have tested positive for COVID-19 at Spring Valley Seniors Community long-term care, according to an Interior Health media release issued today, April 28. Contact tracing is underway and anyone in close contact is being provided direction on self-isolation and is monitoring for symptoms, Interior Health said. The long-term care facility is operated by Park Place Seniors Living with 150 publicly-funded long-term care beds. Interior Health is monitoring the situation, while implementing infection control and preventive measures. To protect the safety of all residents, outbreak protocols are in place, including a pause in all visits.
