Clackamas County deputies are seeking clues into the mysterious death of a homeless man whose body was found floating in the Willamette River on March 26.
Samuel Lee Brooks, 40, known to frequent the Milwaukie area, had no fixed address. He was found dead, floating face-down in more than two feet of water, along the riverbank near 1900 Clackamette Drive in Oregon City.
Brooks body had been sighted downstream of the Sportcraft Landing Boat Ramp by a passing boater on a fishing-guide expedition who contacted 911 at approximately 11:30 a.m.

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. Police arrested a Klamath Falls man on Friday for his alleged part in a deadly gun battle in Fairview Park back in November of 2019.
Reports from Klamath Falls Police at the time of the shooting described a meeting between two armed groups in the early morning hours of November 20. Two men were killed in the shooting 31-year-old Christopher Gregory and 43-year-old Donald Cheatham Jr. Sean Dalton Brazil-Gates was hospitalized with gunshot wounds.

Sheriff s Office arrests suspect in August murder near Trail
The Jackson County Sheriff s Office says that the uncle of 25-yeear-old Steven Sutton has been arrested on suspicion of his murder.

On August 24, deputies responded to a 911 call reporting shots fired on Highway 227 north of Trail, arriving to find a man suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim, later identified as 25-year-old Steven Sutton, died at the scene.
The Sheriff s Office activated the Major Assault and Death Investigation Unit (MADIU) to investigate the deadly shooting. Jackson County took lead on the case, with detectives from Ashland Police, Medford Police, Central Point Police, the Oregon State Police Crime Lab, and the District Attorney s Office aiding in the investigation.
