A 16-year-old boy has been arrested in the March 31 slaying of a Vancouver man at a convenience store in Portland’s Kenton neighborhood.
Michael Arrington, 53, died from a gunshot wound, according to the Oregon State Medical Examiner’s Office, and his death was ruled a homicide.
Portland Police Bureau homicide detectives identified the teen, whose name was not released. On Wednesday, members of the Homicide Detail, Enhanced Community Safety Team and Special Emergency Reaction Team arrested him in Southeast Portland, according to an agency news release.

PHILOMATH, Ore. The death of a Philomath couple in March has been declared a murder-suicide.
Philomath Police say their investigation determined that Carl Rath, 55, murdered his wife Merry Rath, 53, in an act of domestic violence. She died of multiple gunshot wounds.
The investigation also revealed that after killing his wife, Carl Rath sent several text messages to relatives and another acquaintance, informing them he had killed his wife.

Portland Police Bureau officers say the body was recovered around 2 a.m. on Monday, April 5.
Homicide detectives are on the case after the dead body of a man was found near Providence Park in Portland s Goose Hollow neighborhood.
A call came in regarding a dead body on the sidewalk on Southwest Morrison Street at 20th Avenue around 1:40 a.m. on Monday, April 5, according to a news release.
Police say Portland Fire & Rescue were already on scene regarding a fire-related issued and were also alerted to the deceased person after someone flagged the firefighters down, police say.
Detectives and the Oregon State Medical Examiner s Office continue to work the case and investigate the cause of death.
