Bayview on the Park hotel hits the market for $70m

Share An abandoned and ransacked former four-star hotel in Melbourne’s St Kilda Road precinct has been listed for sale by its Malaysian owners as a $60-$70 million development site. The 203-room Bayview on the Park hotel at 50-52 Queens Road overlooking Albert Park Lake, and usually packed during events like the Melbourne Grand Prix, closed its doors a year ago when the country entered a nationwide lockdown and never reopened. The hotel is in a prime location on Queens Road overlooking Albert Park.  Videos and photos posted on social media by local youths who gained illegal entry during the school holidays show rooms in the hotel covered in graffiti and a swimming pool filled with rainwater, litter and dirt.
