TREK Announces 2021 Date for 24th Annual Event in Owensboro
One of my absolute favorite events of the year is coming back this summer. Last year, COVID-19 turned the annual TREK for the St. Joseph Peace Mission for Children into a virtual event. While the virtual TREK was a rousing social media success, it actually delayed exciting plans to move the event to downtown Owensboro, after being held from Calhoun to West Louisville for 22 consecutive years.
Leading up to 2020, the TREK unveiled an exciting new route for the run, bike, walk event.

The new route is a little shy of the usual half-marathon distance that used to run from Calhoun, the length of Hwy 815, then to Hwy 56 into West Louisville. Trek XXIV will cover 11.77 miles and will start and finish at the St. Joseph Peace Mission (1328 West 3rd Street) in downtown Owensboro.

Chad has much in common with Greg Brady. He s an overachiever just like Marsha, and thinks that he s a great singer. We know how much he loves a microphone and the stage! Chad secretly dreams each night of becoming the next Johnny Bravo . I m sure Chad has a matador s jacket in his closet ready for the stage. You know that I m right! And, do you remember when Greg goat-napped the mascot from a rival school because they had swiped theirs? Just like Greg, Chad is always butting in to have the last word, or goat in this case. He s so baaaaad.
Dear Mr. Mac,
My name is Chad Benefield and I am a morning show host on The Country Station, 92.5 WBKR in Owensboro, Kentucky. I am writing to you today on behalf of my listening audience and my co-host Angel, who s a really annoying, but incredibly fertile vegetarian, whose pelvis could supply you with endless customers. It is my fervent belief that, though you are essentially a New England-based company, that we, the perpetually hungry residents of Owensboro-Daviess County, would nestle you deep into our bosoms. We d be happy to slip on a bib and slobber all up on you.
See, we love restaurants. We ve got all kinds of em. At one point in time, we had the most restaurants per capita than any city in the United States. But, to quote Academy Award and Grammy-winning singer/actress Jennifer Hudson, Where YOU at?
Owensboro Woman Careers Ice Storm 2021 W/Hilarious Fall
Ice Storm 2021 has arrived and it is getting the best of some of us. Jacy English, put on the show of her life without even realizing it when she hit a patch of ice on her porch and her Ring camera caught the hysterical fall.WATCH >While we all think this is absolutely hilarious we also know that slipping on ice can cause some serious injuries. We wanted to share with you all some tips for preparing yourselves as best as possible when there are slippery conditions.
Make sure you have a good pair of shoes. There isn t a sure fire shoe that will work unless you want to wear cleats with metal spikes. Rubber-soled shoes are best.
Ice Storm Warning Now Includes Daviess, Henderson, Hancock, Union
It s been 12 years since we ve heard the phrase ice storm warning, but it s back, whether we like it or not.
Tuesday, the National Weather Service issued an ice storm warning for a large section of the Commonwealth that included most of western Kentucky, with the exception of Daviess, Hancock, Henderson, and Union Counties.
As of Wednesday morning, those four counties had been added to the massive list of Kentucky counties now under an ice storm warning. From the National Weather Service, here s what that means for us:
.Prolonged icing event expected Today through Thursday.
