Feb 11, 2021 Richland County - The Ohio State Highway Patrol Mansfield Post is investigating a two-car crash that occurred on February 10, 2021 at around 1:45 PM. The crash occurred on Ganges Five Point Road in the area of Ganges East Road in Blooming Grove Township. The crash occurred when a 2018 Ford Taurus, driven by Richland County Deputy Scott Davis, was responding in emergency status to a call for service. As Dep. Davis was responding, he began the action of passing other traffic. While in the process of passing, a silver 2010 Chevrolet pickup truck driven by Allen Baumberger, age 66 of Shelby Oh. was in the process of making a left turn into a private driveway. Dep. Davis took evasive action to avoid contact and traveled off the right side of the road striking a rock and mailbox before overturning.
