What we know in the Mansfield-area missing person case:
Melinda Kay (Clark) Davis, 33, of Shelby, was last seen around 7:20 a.m. Feb. 25 driving her black 2013 Volkswagen Jetta with Ohio plates JGZ8921 near Shelby High School.
Law-enforcement officials did not offer much more information at a Monday news conference.
Richland County Prosecutor Gary Bishop said Davis body was taken to Montgomery County for an autopsy. He said it was too early to elaborate on cause of death, motive, or most details in the case. such as how long the car was in Galloway.
Tiffany Kyser, who lives in Lehnert Green apartments where Davis car and body were found, said Monday she had noticed the Jetta in the parking lot, and the black 2013 Jetta was in the background of a video she took on Feb. 27.

Shelby Police took a report of a missing person on 2/25/21 at 12:36 p.m. The person reported missing is Melinda Kay Davis, Age 33, 5’ 145 lbs. Brn/Brn. Davis is driving a Black 2013 Volkswagen Jetta, Ohio Plate JGZ8921. She was on her way to 592 Cliffside Dr., Mansfield, OH earlier that morning and had not been heard from.
Shelby police asked the Richland County Sheriff’s Office to check the residence to see if she was there. She was not, nor was her ex-boyfriend John Henry Mack Jr., DOB/3-22-77 5’9” 200 lbs. Black hair and brown eyes. Her black Jetta also was not there.
