Columbus man faces charges in connection to body found at Alum Creek

Timothy P. Burney Baldrick, 43, of Columbus, was taken into custody at 2:30 a.m. Saturday. His arraignment is expected this week. Investigators said more charges will follow. “Our team, in partnership with the Ohio (Bureau of Criminal Investigation), worked tirelessly since last Monday pursuing leads and gathering evidence to reach this point,” said Delaware County Sheriff Russell Martin in a released statement. “This arrest is the result of the strong investigative work by our detective unit and staff, and their diligence to see that justice is served.” Baldrick is facing charges after the body of Columbus resident Timothy R. Marcum was found on the eastern shore of Alum Creek Lake on June 28 inside a storage tote. Preliminary autopsy findings indicate that Marcum died from a gunshot wound.

Kayaker finds plastic bin containing man s body at Ohio lake

June 28, 2021 GMT DELAWARE, Ohio (AP) A kayaker picking up trash and debris at an Ohio lake ended up finding a man’s body in a plastic storage container, authorities said. The Delaware County sheriff’s office says the kayaker called authorities at about 8:30 a.m. Monday to report finding the large bin in Alum Creek Lake and seeing what appeared to be a human leg inside. Crews worked Monday to recover the bin from the water and confirmed that the bin contained the body of a man. Officials said the body would be taken to the Montgomery County coroner’s office for evaluation.
