Butler County Sheriff: Detective serving search warrant shot armed person

FAIRFIELD A detective with an Ohio county sheriff’s office shot a person armed with a handgun, but the person is expected to survive, authorities said.
The Butler County sheriff’s office said detectives were serving a search warrant at a Ross Township residence at about 12:30 p.m. Monday and encountered a man who authorities allege pointed a handgun at them.
Officials said a detective fired his weapon, hitting the person in the chest. Detectives and a life squad called to the scene administered life-saving measures and the person was taken to Fort Hamilton Hughes Hospital with injuries said not to be life-threatening, authorities said.

WHITEHALL, Ohio The Whitehall Division of Police have identified the two men who were killed in what authorities are investigating as a murder-suicide.
Police responded to an apartment on Bernhard Road, just west of East Main Street and South Hamilton Road, around 1:30 p.m. Monday for a shots fired call.
Whitehall police said officers found numerous shell casings in front of the building when they arrived on the scene.
After finding more shell casing in the common hallway, officers noticed the front doors to two apartments were forced open.
In the first apartment, officers found Michael Haycook dead from an apparent gunshot wound. No one was found in the second apartment.

Several suspects are involved and are being questioned by detectives following an incident at the Aventura Mall, according to the Aventura Police Department. Three victims sustained injuries that are not expected to be life threatening, and they are being treated at local hospitals, authorities added.
Patrons and employees were escorted off the property, and access to the mall will be prohibited until further notice, police said.

MAPLE HEIGHTS, Ohio â Two males were shot and killed in Maple Heights Saturday afternoon and a homicide investigation is underway, according to the Maple Heights Police Department.
Around 1:13 p.m., officers were called to the area of Gardenview Drive and Mayville Avenue for a report of two people shot.
Once on scene, officers found two males in a vehicle, both with multiple gunshot wounds to their bodies.
Police said one of the males was pronounced dead at the scene while the second male was transported to Marymount Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
