Man shot to death in Lakewood apartment, police investigating

LAKEWOOD, Ohio â A 44-year-old Lakewood resident was shot to death in an apartment, according to the Lakewood Police Department.
On Sunday around 9:22 a.m., officers were called to an apartment building near the intersection of Elmwood Avenue and Madison Avenue. Once on scene, officers found several spent shell casings outside of an apartment door.
When officers did not receive a response from inside of the apartment, they forced entry and located a man who had suffered a gunshot wound to the head, police said.

LAKEWOOD, Ohio (WOIO) - Lakewood police said they were called to an apartment for a domestic incident hours before they found a man shot to death inside.
Around 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Lakewood police were called to an apartment building in the 2000 block of Elmwood Avenue.
Police found several shell casings outside the door of the apartment, which they forced their way into after they did not receive a response from inside.
Judge Algenon L. Marbley described the physical violence, tear gas and pepper spray used by Columbus police as “the sad tale of officers, clothed with the awesome power of the state, run amok.”

COLUMBUS, Ohio The mothers of Casey Goodson Jr. and Ma Khia Bryant were among the 100 people at city hall Saturday afternoon, speaking about those who have died at the hands of law enforcement.
Goodson was shot six times by Franklin County Sheriff s Deputy Jason Meade in December in northeast Columbus. Goodson would later be pronounced dead at a local hospital.
