Glór is set to receive an investment of €188,000, Salmon Poetry will receive €90,000 and Scoil Samhraidh Willie Clancy will receive €100,000 in funding. Commenting on the announcement, Senator Dooley said “This investment in our local arts amenities will have a hugely positive impact and the funding is key to helping the arts in Clare survive and thrive in 2021. “Unprecedented funding was provided to the Arts Council this year through Budget 2021 that will help sustain artists and organisations severely impacted by the pandemic.

Funding announced for improvement works at Limerick beauty spot Reporter: );   ); ALMOST €200,000 in funding has been allocated for improvement works at one of Limerick s most popular beauty spots. Clare Glens at Murroe is one of 38 projects across the country which has been allocated funding under the Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme. The monies will go towards the upgrade of the existing amenity including trail widening, the installation of a wheelchair accessible trail, pedestrian bridge replacement, carpark refurbishment and signage provision. Welcoming the allocation of €198,000, Deputy Kieran O’Donnell said it is brilliant to see such a public wonderful amenity, which is used extensively by all, being supported. 

Longford allocated €400,000 for recreation projects in Ballymahon and Newtownforbes

Longford allocated €400,000 for recreation projects in Ballymahon and Newtownforbes Reporter: );   ); Longford has been allocated €400,000 for two projects under Measure 2 of the Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme.  €200,000 has been announced towards the Newtownforbes bog walk project. This will see the development of c. 2.9km trail linking the village of Newtownforbes with the nearby countryside, through grassland, bog and forest. Phase 1 of the construction of a walkway/cycleway linking Ballymahon town with Newcastle Woods, along the River Inny has also been allocated €200,000.  In January, under Measure 1 of the Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme, seven Longford projects were allocated a combined total of €122,745.45.
