UNM Anderson School of Management receives Outdoor Recreation Business Accelerator Grant

The New Mexico Outdoor Recreation Division announced the three recipients of the 2021 Outdoor Recreation Division Business Accelerator Grants. The grant program was created to fund accelerators that can help individuals and outdoor recreation companies improve their business plans, hire New Mexicans, and amplify the state’s reputation as a leader in the outdoor industry, according to a news release from the Outdoor Recreation Division. The division received 14 grant applications, with requests that exceeded the amount of money available, according to the release. The three highest-scoring applicants were chosen to each receive a $20,000 award. Those recipients are as follows:

America the Beautiful report outlines path toward 30 percent conservation by 2030

The report released on Thursday, called Conserving and Restoring America the Beautiful 2021, states that three problems must be addressed to protect lands and waters the disappearance of nature, climate change and inequitable access to the outdoors. The America the Beautiful report lists building more parks and outdoor spaces in areas with limited access to nature as one of the tools to reaching that goal.
