Kagoshima woman has ‘no memory’ of putting corpse of infant in bag after birth

KAGOSHIMA (TR) – Kagoshima Prefectural Police have arrested a 24-year-old woman for allegedly leaving the corpse of her newborn boy at her residence in Kagoshima City, reports Fuji News Network (May 26).
On May 9, Miyuki Kawabata, of no known occupation, alerted emergency services. “About five days ago, I gave birth and home but the child died,” she said.

Shoichi Onitsuka was found lying on a farm road near his home in the Kagoshima Prefecture city of Satsumasendai by a passerby at around 7:55 a.m., and the passerby made an emergency call. Onitsuka was initially conscious, but became unconscious while being transported to the hospital.
Kagoshima police seize 100 pairs of school shoes from car of suspected thief

KAGOSHIMA (TR) – Kagoshima Prefectural Police have arrested a 35-year-old man who is suspected of stealing about 100 pairs of shoes from schools in Kagoshima City, reports NHK (Feb. 19).
Thus far, police have accused Kazuhiko Yokote, a company employee, of stealing seven pairs of shoes from a middle school between last November 20 and 24.
Upon his arrest on suspicion of theft and trespassing on Friday, Yokote admitted to the allegations. “I stole shoes from elementary, middle and high schools,” the suspect said.
