There is an indication that Kaduna State will witness another lockdown unless the rising cases of Covid-19 are reduced drastically. The state governor, Nasiru Elrufai, who has been on self-isolation, is mulling the idea of imposing additional lockdown due to the spike in the disease. In a circular released from the state ministry of education, all public and private schools are directed to close on Wednesday December 16. From the medical points of view, covid-19 is real and government should do whatever it takes to keep the deadly disease at bay.
While it is a cheery news that the coronavirus vaccine has been discovered and put to trial in U.S and UK, it is not yet Uhuru for African countries which include Nigeria; many are yet to get the vaccine. This means government should enforce necessary measures to ensure lives are saved before we receive our own vaccine.

ONGOING efforts to amend the 1999 Constitution fall short of the collective demands by a preponderance of stakeholders in the Nigerian project for restructuring. KUNLE ODEREMI writes on the underlining issues in restructuring.
At Independence on October 1, 1960, four constitutions were in operation in Nigeria. Local governments have since been made third federating tier with key functions skewed in favour of the centre. The Federal Government exercises powers over 98 items, with 68 of them on the Exclusive List in the 1999 Constitutio

‘SUYI AYODELE examines the establishment of the Western Nigeria Security Network, WNSN, codenamed Operation Amotekun and the subsequent clamour for creation of other security outfits in other regions of the country in tackling the spate of crimes.
Since independence in 1960, there has been no time that Nigerians have had reasons to interrogate the corporate existence of the nation than now. From the North to the South, East to West, the agitation for a revisit of the federation and her components is gaining traction by the day. What began in 2000, when this present political dispensation was barely a year old, in the guise of resource control by the Niger Delta enclave, has assumed a life of its own.
