The liftboat Seacor Power, part of Seacor Marine’s fleet of more than a dozen self-propelled and self-raising vessels that serve the offshore oil, gas and wind industries, capsized April 13 amid rough seas and high winds in the Gulf of Mexico, just south of Port Fourchon, Louisiana’s offshore energy production hub.
According to U.S. Coast Guard Sector New Orleans, there were 19 crew members aboard the Seacor Power at the time of the incident. A day after the incident, six crew members had been safely recovered, with 12 still missing. As of that time, one crew member’s body had been recovered.

The organization confirmed Thursday that it is continuing to search for 12 missing people from the capsized vessel eight miles south of Port Fourchon.

On Thursday, searches are continuing following the capsizing of a lifting vessel on Tuesday in the Gulf of Mexico, just south of Port Fourchon off Louisiana s coast.
The Coast Guard is still leading the investigation.
Official identification of that person has not been announced. Divers are expected on scene Thursday afternoon to continue search efforts for those missing.
Family members have confirmed to KATC that at least four Acadiana men were on board the boat capsized in the Gulf yesterday.

6 Rescued, 12 Missing After Large Boat Capsizes Off Louisiana Coast
Six people were rescued on Tuesday after a large commercial boat capsized off the coast of Louisiana in the Gulf of Mexico, but 12 remain missing, according to the U.S. Coast Guard.
The U.S. Coast Guard and multiple good Samaritan vessels continue their search and rescue efforts about eight miles (12.9 kilometers) south of Port Fourchon, the state’s southernmost port, the U.S. Coast Guard announced late Tuesday.
The Coast Guard said it received a radio beacon notification around 4:30 p.m. of a distressed 129-foot commercial lift vessel. The Coast Guard subsequently issued an urgent broadcast that attracted some vessels to come and help.
