While fireworks were being delivered to the beach town for a planned July 4th celebration, they unintentionally discharged and caused a massive explosion.
“It just freaked out a lot of people,” an eyewitness told
WTOP. “People were on the boardwalk. A couple people started running. And a couple of people were just watching, because they weren’t sure.”
When firefighters responded to the scene, it was at first believed to be a vehicle fire, which obviously was not accurate.
