SOUTH STORMONT, Ontario – On May 30, 2021 shortly after 12:00 a.m Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a two vehicle collision on Headline Road ( County Road 44), South Stormont Township.
Initial Investigation has indicated that shortly after 12:00 a.m, a westbound passenger vehicle collided with an unoccupied parked passenger vehicle, causing both vehicles to become engulfed in flames. The investigation continues to determine the cause of the collision.
The adult male driver of the westbound passenger vehicle was pronounced deceased at scene.

SOUTH STORMONT, Ontario – On May 13 ,2021 shortly before 4:30 p.m Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers are currently at the scene of a single vehicle collision on Highway 401 Westbound at mile marker 793 (Between Boundary Road and McConnell Avenue), South Stormont Township.
Initial Investigation has indicated that shortly before 4:30 p.m, a westbound motor vehicle with three occupants left the roadway striking the ditch, for reasons under investigation.
Two occupants have been pronounced deceased at the scene.
A third occupant of the vehicle has been transported to hospital with life threatening injuries.

CORNWALL, Ontario – The Eastern Ontario Health Unit (EOHU) is warning residents of a phone scam related to the COVID-19 vaccine.
The EOHU warns that they have received reports of scammers calling residents demanding payment to book COVID-19 vaccination appointments.
“The Eastern Ontario Health Unit has received a report of a phone scam in the area about the COVID-19 vaccine. Please note that
the COVID-19 vaccine is free. If you receive a call requesting financial information to receive the vaccine, please hang up immediately and do not provide any personal information such as your health card or credit card number. Never allow anyone inside your home offering the vaccine in return for a fee. Alert the police,” reads a statement from the EOHU.
