Hazara coal miners executed in Machh laid to rest in Quetta

QUETTA: The slain coal miners of Machh have been laid to rest almost a week after their mourning families staged sit-ins across Quetta demanding resignations from the Balochistan government and a visit from Prime Minister Imran Khan.
The miners were buried in the Hazara Town graveyard.
A large number of people gathered for the burial of the miners.
Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen leader Allama Raja Nasir Abbas and other Hazara leaders were at the cemetery.
National Assembly Qasim Suri Deputy Speaker and Special Assistant to the PM Zulfi Bukhari, Balochistan Home Minister Mir Ziaullah Langau, provincial minister Mir Arif Jan Mohammad and other government officials also attended the funeral prayers.

The government on Friday denounced the opposition for playing politics with the sentiments of Hazaras who have been holding a sit-in over the gruesome murder of their loved ones in Balochistan’s Machh coal field area on Sunday last.
Leading the charge from the government side, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Shibli Faraz castigated the opposition parties for politicising the tragic Machh incident to gain political mileage.

Government figures on Friday said politics is being played over the bodies of the 10 Hazara coal miners who were brutally murdered in Machh on Sunday.
Their statements came as protests spread all over the country, and as the nation grew anxious to see the redressal of the grievances of the Hazara community who have been mourning the massacre for the past six days and have refused to bury their loved ones until Prime Minister Imran Khan visits them.
