The United States of democracy needs adjustment. Here’s a free and easy step we can implement immediately in the Granite State: Let’s create an unshakable tradition where the governor, speaker, mayor and other elected officials refrain from publicly endorsing candidates. Let’s hear them say, “I will happily work with whoever the NH citizens elect.”
Athletic teams have general managers and coaches. The general managers choose the players because they are emotionally detached from the locker room. When the coaches choose the players their emotions and biases get in the way. The same thing happens in our state and city governments. NH is 39% U, 31% D, and 30% R. Who are the political, financial and media elite in America? Are they good souls tempted by evil? Or are they evil souls struggling to be good?
