It was located next to the Erie Railroad tracks with the station beyond. Mansfield and other local historians. This article was originally printed in the Saturday, Jan. 6, 1996, edition of the Galion Inquirer.) Mary and Alice Graham were special friends of mine. They lived on North Pierce street, and during my house calls to these ladies, there evolved an exchange of historical information. Their contribution one year, at my urging, was to list all the saloons in town. I don’t have a record of the year, or years, this compilation was made, my here is the list as they gave it to me:

GALION POLICE REPORTS Jan. 26 Police investigated a report of suspicious persons on the back porch of a residence in the 500 block of John Street. The caller informed officers that two males were on the porch and left. Police investigated a case of alleged fraud that was reported by a resident in the 300 block of Wildflower Drive. The individual told officers that someone filed an unemployment claim using their identity. Police are investigating a case of alleged sexual abuse that was reported by officials from Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Police issued a citation to a motorist in the 600 block of Harding Way East for driving under suspension-license forfeiture.

GALION POLICE REPORTS Jan. 13 Police arrested a female suspect in the 100 block of Clymer Avenue on suspicion of criminal trespass and disorderly conduct. Police arrested a female suspect in the 900 block of Allen Street on suspicion of disorderly conduct. Police arrested a male suspect in the 200 block of Grant Street on a warrant for failure to appear in court. Jan. 14 Police issued a citation to a motorist in the vicinity of Sixth Avenue and Harding Way East for driving under suspension. Officers executed the traffic stop after receiving a report of a reckless driver in that area. Police investigated a report of the theft of a cat in the 600 block of Harding Way West. The individuals involved in the incident have spoken to each other regarding the animal. The owner will contact police again if the cat is not returned.

The new bed and breakfast facility is scheduled to open in February, the Dews said. The upper floor of the two-story building features two large rooms, a full kitchen, and full bathroom and great views of Uptowne Galion and the Big Four Depot.
