Karnataka Covid death toll crosses 12K-mark

Bengaluru, Dec 19 : With 15 patients succumbing to the Covid-19 on Friday, the death toll due to the pandemic in Karnataka has crossed the 12,000-mark and the state reported 1,152 new cases taking the total number of infections to 9,08,275, the health department said on Saturday.
Bengaluru continues to be the epicentre of the virus spread, out of 1,152 fresh cases reported on Friday, 586 were from Bengaluru urban alone.
As on Friday midnight (December 18), cumulatively 9,08,275 Covid-19 positive cases have been confirmed in the state, which include 12,004 deaths and 8,81,882 discharges, the health department said in its bulletin on Saturday.

Karnataka has reported 1,185 new cases of COVID-19 and 11 related fatalities, taking the total number of infections to 9,03,425 and the death toll to 11,965, the health department said on Tuesday.
The day also saw 1,594 patients getting discharged after recovery. The active cases stood at 15,645.
Out of the 1,185 fresh cases, as many as 673 cases were from Bengaluru Urban alone.
Cumulatively 9,03,425 COVID-19 positive cases have been confirmed in the state and they included 11,965 deaths and 8,75,796 discharges, a bulletin said.

PUTRAJAYA: The Ministry of Health (MOH) detected four new Covid-19 clusters involving several areas in Sabah, Kuala Lumpur, Johor, Kelantan, Perak and Negeri Sembilan. Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah
(pic) said the Kupi-Kupi cluster, involving the Penampang district in Sabah was detected during a symptomatic individual screening on Dec 2.
“As of Dec 9, 12 individuals from this cluster have been screened, with all of them found to be Covid-19 positive,” he told a news conference on Covid-19 development here Wednesday.
Dr Noor Hisham said the second cluster, the Tapak Bina Ikon Bintang Cluster, was detected in Lembah Pantai and Kepong districts in Kuala Lumpur on Dec 9 following the targeted screening of workers at a construction site.
