ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is testing its tornado alert system Wednesday.
There will be a statewide tornado drill at 10 a.m., which will be conducted through NOAA Weather Radio.
This will be the same drill that routinely happens on Wednesdays, but this time it ll be followed by a TEST tornado warning message.
No live alerts will be used for this, so you won t see any banners or scrolls on electronic devices.
The best way to take part in the drill is to turn on your NOAA Weather Radio receiver at about 9:55 a.m., make sure the weather broadcast is playing, then at or around 10 a.m. you will hear the tone alert, followed by the test message.

From learning about lightning safety to hurricanes and flooding, the Florida Division of Emergency Management lays everything out this week on what to expect and how to prepare.
To help people think about what to do in the event of a tornado, a drill will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
