15th National Assembly’s first session opens The 15th National Assembly (NA) convened its first session in Hanoi on July 20 morning.
The session is being broadcast live on channels of the Voice of Vietnam (VOV1), Vietnam Television (VTV), and NA television.
Prior to the meeting, leaders of the Party, State and Vietnam Fatherland Front and NA deputies paid floral tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at his mausoleum. The lawmakers also laid wreaths at the Heroic Martyrs’ Monument in Hanoi.

Following the opening remarks by Chairman of the 14th NA Vuong Dinh Hue, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong delivered a speech at the session.

The first session of the 15th National Assembly is scheduled to take place from July 20 to July 31 morning, heard a meeting in Hanoi on July 17.

The meeting, which was originally scheduled to wrap up on August 5, will be shortened, as agreed by the NA’s Party delegation and the Party Civil Affairs Committee of the Government.
NA committees and concerned agencies will work even on Saturdays and after 5pm to serve the session, they said.
According to NA Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong will deliver a speech at the opening session of the sitting.

This is the fourth – and also the biggest shipment – from the deal AstraZeneca signed with the Vietnam Vaccine Joint Stock Company in December last year.
The Vietnamese vaccine company has agreed to sell their entire supply of this year to the Vietnamese health ministry on a not-for-profit basis.
To date, 1.9 million doses in the contracted amount have arrived in Vietnam.
AstraZeneca was the first vaccine to have obtained authorisation for emergency use in Vietnam.
