NEWTON, IOWA, MEN FACING DRUG CHARGES IN SALINE COUNTY

Two Newton, Iowa, residents are facing drug charges after a traffic stop in Saline County on January 22. According to a report from a Saline County Deputy, he conducted a traffic stop of a speeding vehicle on northbound U.S. Highway 65. During the traffic stop, the passenger provided multiple versions of identification and showed signs of impairment by a stimulant narcotic. When the passenger made statements about narcotics to be present in the vehicle, a search of the vehicle was conducted. The two occupants of the vehicle were arrested for possession of a controlled substance- methamphetamine- and transported to the Saline County Sheriff’s Department.

Further, Jones pled guilty to two separate felony offense of Sexual Assault and was sentenced to 2 years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division. Jarred Lee Williams pled guilty to the felony offense of Aggravated Assault with Deadly Weapon and sentenced to 8 years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division. David Wayne Cockroft pled guilty to the felony offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance – Drug Free Zone and was sentenced to 3 years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division

Man charged with Pine St. S. burglary SHARE ON: (pixabay.com) Being apparently caught in the act of breaking into a downtown building results in a long list of charges against a Timmins man. Police say an occupant of the Pine Street South building confronted the burglar Friday evening. He had used a crowbar to get in. After a brief foot chase with police, the 34-year was arrested. TWO AREA MEN CHARGED WITH DRUG-RELATED FELONIES AFTER EXECUTION OF SEARCH WARRANT

Bond currently has been denied for two area men who are facing drug-related felony charges after the execution of a search warrant revealed numerous drug-related items at a residence in the 400 block of West Lincoln Avenue in Carrollton on Thursday, January 21. According to a probable-cause statement, 42-year-old Alando Harker, of Carrollton, and 43-year-old Timothy Adam Stanley, of Sumner, were present. Authorities say they found a glass smoking pipe; a homemade water bong; a glass marijuana pipe; some controlled pills; crystal shards which tested positive for methamphetamine; hypodermic syringes; a digital scale; two cell phones- one of which contained messages pertaining to the sale of narcotics and had Harker’s Facebook account signed in; and several other drug-related items.
