The CBSA arrested the driver, Harvinder Singh of Brampton and transferred him to the custody of RCMP officers from the Windsor Detachment who are continuing with the investigation. He will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Sarnia on April 20.
BRAMPTON – A Brampton truck driver has been charged after $3.5 million worth of cocaine was found in a vehicle crossing into Canada from the U.S.
The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) reports that on March 31 a commercial vehicle entered Canada using the Blue Water Bridge in Sarnia.
During the original inspection, the driver was referred to a secondary examination where border agents discovered 62 kg of the drug. The seizure is vale at $3.5 million.

For over a year now, there has been non-stop coverage of COVID-19, while a number of other issues continue to be neglected as “newsworthy.” For people who use drugs in particular, a public sense of the crisis has never quite taken hold, despite years of growing overdose deaths and harm across communities.
The grim total comes after the B.C. Coroners Service April 29 announced 158 people died in March. It s the twelfth consecutive month in which more than 100 people have died, with an average of five per day. Stigma and criminalization are driving people to use alone, and the pandemic is pushing people further into isolation,” Malcolmson said. “The illicit drug supply has become dramatically more toxic and, tragically, more lethal. “The effects of two public health emergencies have taken an immense toll.
