19 new cases of COVID-19 in Galway, nationally 426 cases and 4 further deaths in April

Galway Bay fm newsroom – The Health Protection Surveillance Centre has today been notified of 10 additional deaths related to COVID-19.
Of the deaths reported today 4 occurred in April, 5 occurred March and 1 in February.
The median age of those who died was 84 years and the age range was 77 – 97 years.
There has been a total of 4,884 COVID-19 related deaths in Ireland.
As of midnight, Monday 26
th April, the HPSC has been notified of 426 confirmed cases of COVID-19. There is now a total of 247,489 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ireland.
426 new cases of Covid 19 have been confirmed in the Republic today, with 10 additional Covid related deaths reported.
There were 39 new cases in Donegal, which now has a 14 day incidence rate of 288.3 cases per 100,000 people, compared to a national figure of 122.5. Donegal once again has the highest incidence rate in the country.
Meanwhile, 109 more cases of Covid 19 have been confirmed north of the border today, with no additional deaths reported.

There has been a total of 4,874 COVID-19 related deaths in Ireland.
As of midnight, Sunday 25
th April, the HPSC has been notified of 437 confirmed cases of COVID-19.
There has now been a total of 247,069 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ireland.
Of the cases notified today:
220 are men / 216 are women
76% are under 45 years of age
The median age is 29 years old
169 in Dublin, 62 in Donegal, 40 in Kildare, 29 in Meath, 21 in Galway and the remaining 116 cases are spread across 17 other counties.
437 new cases of Covid 19 have been confirmed in the Republic today, with one additional Covid related death reported.
There were 62 new cases in Donegal, which now has a 14 day incidence rate of 288.3 cases per 100,000 people, compared to a national figure of 121. Donegal once again has the highest incidence rate in the country.
Meanwhile, 73 more cases of Covid 19 have been confirmed north of the border today, with one additional death reported.
61 patients are being treated in hospital for the disease in Northern Ireland, with 5 in ICU.
Last night, there were 15 Covid patients being treated at Letterkenny University Hospital, one of them in intensive care.

228 are men / 204 are women
74% are under 45 years of age
The median age is 31 years old
217 in Dublin, 30 in Kildare, 30 in Cork, 27 in Limerick, 21 Donegal and the remaining 109 cases are spread across 20 other counties.
