LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) The School District of La Crosse will require students and staff to wear masks for the rest of the school year, Superintendent Aaron Engel announced Friday.
“We had another week of declining COVID cases and quarantines in our schools. That said, we still had to quarantine students and in one case a classroom late this week. Please continue to follow our mitigation strategies and stay home and get tested if experiencing symptoms. Your assistance will allow us to complete the school year successfully with as many students as possible attending in person through the last day of school,” Engel said in an email.

TOWN OF CAMPBEL, Wis. (WKBT)- Students at La Crosse’s Summit Elementary are being offered bottle water while the district waits for the results of its well test.
The City of La Crosse is testing some parts of French Island, where the school is located, for a dangerous compound called PFAS. Summit sits outside of that area, but so are other wells that have tested positive for PFAS.
